All SCP Platforms: Cloud Agent for macOS 6.2.0-36 (Intel) / 6.3.0-41 (ARM): “Application Damaged” Popup on macOS 15.6.1 (Sequoia) (IM-12268)

Incident Report for Qualys, Inc.

Resolved

This incident has long been resolved as we previously removed the impacted binary versions . We have now released the fixed macOS binary versions into production and this status post is to alert users on next actions to resolve the reported issue.

Fix Versions:

6.2.1.9 (Intel)
6.3.1.23 (ARM)

For any macOS systems which did not exhibit and are currently not exhibiting the damage pop-up message during binary upgrade, these systems will have no issue auto upgrading to the new binary versions released and should not observe any impact.

For any macOS systems which did exhibit or are currently exhibiting the damage pop-up message during the upgrade process, the only solution to the incident is for users to uninstall and re-install the macOS agent with the latest macOS binary versions released. These impacted systems will not be allowed to auto upgrade to the fix versions and will continue to display the damage pop-up until re-install occurs.

This is the uninstall command:

sudo /Applications/QualysCloudAgent.app/Contents/MacOS/qagent_uninstall.sh

As a precaution, please ensure all Qualys files are removed from the machine. Check for and delete any remaining files in the following locations:

/Application/QualysCloudAgent.app
/etc/qualys
/var/log/qualys
/Library/Application\ Support/QualysCloudAgent

Post uninstall and file check, please proceed with fresh install.
