Qualys Cloud Operations will implement a major change of DNS to Cloudflare from 9:30 AM PDT to 1:30 PM PDT on September 26, 2019. Team will be updating the nameservers at our domain registrar to resolve our domain’s DNS using Cloudflare’s nameservers. The deployment is completely transparent to users and will require no downtime.
Points: 1. The change will be done for US Platform 1, US Platform 2, US Platform 3, US Platform 4, Freescan and PCI. 2. Updating our nameservers does not change where our website is hosted. We can still use OpenDNS, Google DNS etc. for recursive DNS. 3. The Cloudflare DNS default Time-To-Live (TTL) is 300 seconds (5 minutes). Any changes or additions to Cloudflare zone file will push out in 5 minutes or less. 4. Our local DNS cache may take longer to update; as such, propagation everywhere might take longer than 5 minutes.
Note: There is a probable chance that users may experience transitory slowness/connection-break while deployment is on-going.
